Bio
As a cinematographer, I feel most at home every time I’m lensing a story. I equally appreciate narrative and documentary work. The essence of a story most strongly shapes my creative approach to filming and lighting, as well as my collaboration with a director.
I was born and raised in the western Ukrainian city of Lviv, but have lived half my life in the U.S., in the Pacific Northwest and New Mexico, and for the last eight years in Los Angeles. Living on different continents has let me work with a range of directors and brands. I filmed commercials, documentaries, and brand films for Google, NBA, WordPress, Swiss Krono Group, and Brown University.
Among my most recognizable works is a feature film, “Wounded Land”, featuring Ukrainian vintners and farmers who, despite the full-scale russian invasion of Ukraine, kept producing and defending their land. It was a deeply personal project and an amazing chance to collaborate with director Roman Zajac. The film won a Grand Prix at Spain’s prestigious MOST festival.
